Children & Young Peoples Plan (CYPP) 2008 - 2011

The CYPP plan sets out how organisations countywide, including the County Council, District Councils, Schools, the Health Service, the Police, and Voluntary and Community Sector bodies, work together to improve the lives of children and young people.

The aim of The Children and Young People's Plan in North Yorkshire is to support all children and young people so they can achieve the outcomes identified in the Government's Every Child Matters Green Paper.
The five key outcomes are:
  • Be healthy
  • Stay safe
  • Enjoy and achieve
  • Make a positive contribution
  • Benefit from economic well-being
These five outcomes all complement each other. Children and young people thrive and learn best when they are healthy, safe and engaged, and evidence shows that educational achievement is the most effective route to economic well-being.
