Workforce Development
This document highlights the Government's vision that everyone who works with children and young people should be ambitious, excellent, committed and respected
Whatever a persons role, the aim is to ensure that the workforce has the skills and knowledge to do the best job they possibly can to help children and young people develop and succeed.
Workforce Development in North Yorkshire
From April 2008 to March 2010 The Children’s Workforce Development Council funded work in North Yorkshire to support the involvement and engagement of the Third and Private Sectors in the development, implementation, delivery and review of local and regional integrated children’s workforce strategies and their action plans.
In North Yorkshire the 3 years of funding helped NYFVO provide subsidised training for VCS partner staff and volunteers, representation for the sector on the Children and Young People’s Workforce Development Strategy Group and the inclusion of VCS information in the Workforce Survey and on the award-winning workforce and recruitment portal www.oneplacenorthyorks.com
What next?
CWDC recognise that work to enage with the Third sector needs to continue. They are therefore putting funding arrangments in place through the Children's Trust to continue to enage with the third sector on children's and young people's workforce reform.
